FAQ
What is the Extra Odor Control plan ?
The Extra Odor Control plan is better suited for older or larger cats who tend to urinate more than average. If you choose this plan, you’ll receive a regular Pacha litter bag, but with faster deliveries every three weeks instead of four — to prevent the litter from becoming saturated and losing its effectiveness too soon.
For a standard-sized, average-age cat, our regular plan is more appropriate.
Why is Pacha lighter than most other cat litters ?
Pacha is a non-clumping litter made from ultra-absorbent, lightweight silica crystals. Silica crystals absorb significantly more than other litter materials, which means you need less to get the job done.
Traditional clumping litter turns urine into heavy clay clumps that need to be scooped out — often creating lots of dust in the process. This clumped, discarded litter must be replaced throughout the month to keep the litter box clean. That means more litter, heavier bags, and more trips to the store.
Pacha’s non-clumping formula just needs a quick stir, and only the solid waste needs to be removed. One single bag can last an entire month! No need to refill it during the month.

What do the colors mean ?
Pacha reacts to the pH of your cat’s urine. When urine comes into contact with the litter, it may turn green, blue, or — in the case of blood — red on the white litter.
When the litter turns olive green to yellow, your cat’s urine is within the normal range. Want to test this color? Tap water has a similar pH and appears green to yellow.
The litter turns blue when the urine is more alkaline than normal, which can be a sign of a urinary tract infection. Want to test your litter? Ammonia has a similar pH and turns blue.
Because our litter is white, blood in the urine shows up as red and is easy to spot. We do not recommend mixing Pacha with other litter types, as this may affect the visibility of color changes and its performance.
Is Pacha safe for my cat ?
Pacha was developed by a team of veterinarians and scientists specifically for cats.
The litter is made from silica crystals — the same material you might recognize from packaged goods. Just like it can be safely placed in a bag of your favorite jerky, it can be safely placed in your cat’s litter box.
Wondering about the “Do Not Eat” label on silica packets? That warning exists because the packets pose a choking hazard. While we don’t recommend ingesting the litter, the crystals themselves are safe to have in your home.
Is one bag of litter enough for two or more cats ?
One bag of litter is generally not enough for two or more cats. If you have multiple cats, we can help you determine the right number of bags for your needs.
Multiple cats produce more urine and waste, so we recommend one bag per cat to keep things clean and avoid litter box odors. Factors like cat size and diet can also affect how much litter is needed.
With Pacha, you can get four bags or more delivered straight to your door. Order multi-cat litter today and save on repeat deliveries.
How long does one bag of litter last for two or more cats ?
The size of the litter box and how often it’s cleaned can affect how many bags of litter you’ll need.
If you have multiple cats, we recommend one bag per average-sized cat and separate litter boxes to prevent odors and the buildup of harmful bacteria.
With Pacha, one full litter box should last an entire month per cat.
What should I do if I notice an unusual color but have multiple cats ?
If you notice unusual colors in one of your litter boxes, it could mean that one of your cats may have a health issue.
In this case, it might be a good idea to separate your cats for 24 hours and provide them with individual litter boxes.
Alternatively, keep a close eye on them when they use the litter box to quickly identify which one may need special attention.
