FAQ
Pricing and Subscription
How much does Pacha litter cost?
Pacha litter is available at £21 per month. One bag is enough for one cat for a full month.
It's important not to compare the price of a bag you'd find in a supermarket with that of a bag of Pacha litter — a shop-bought bag typically won't last a full month, meaning you'll end up buying several. If the price of Pacha litter seems steep at first glance, we'd encourage you to do the maths and count how many bags you actually get through in a month. Chances are, you're already spending more than £21.
Pacha litter can also save you hundreds of pounds in vet bills. Thanks to its health-monitoring system, you can spot signs of illness early and get your cat seen quickly — before things become serious and require costly treatment or surgery, which can be both traumatic for your pet and a real strain on your wallet.
Pacha is made from high-quality silica crystals, making it the most effective odour-control material on the market — outperforming charcoal, wood, and the rest. You won't find a more affordable odour solution in the UK.
PS: For even greater savings, take a look at our 3-month subscription — it comes with extra benefits.
How does the Pacha subscription work?
The Pacha subscription couldn't be simpler. When you place your first order for one or more bags of Pacha litter, it renews automatically every 30 days.
Payment is taken automatically, and your new bags are delivered straight to your door. You never have to think about running out of litter again.
Should you wish to cancel, it only takes three clicks: log in, click "Manage my subscription", then "Cancel subscription".
How many bags of Pacha litter do I need?
Each bag of Pacha litter is specifically designed to meet one cat's needs for a full month.
Large cats or cats with specific needs:
If your cat is on the larger side, older, or tends to dig more than most, we recommend increasing the depth of the litter to 7.5 cm to ensure maximum absorption.
Multiple cats:
For households with more than one cat, the rule is straightforward: one bag of Pacha per cat. So if you have two cats sharing the same litter tray, you'd ideally need two bags and a litter depth of at least 7.5 cm.
Choose the Extra Odour Control option:
If your cat has health issues, urinate more than usual, is particularly large, or you can't always stir the litter every day, we'd recommend opting for our "Extra Odour Control" subscription. This delivers a fresh bag every three weeks, keeping things fresh and effective at all times.

Use & Maintenance
How do I use Pacha litter correctly?
Step 1: Setting up the litter tray
a) Empty the bag: Pour the entire contents of the Pacha bag into a clean litter tray.
b) Ideal depth: Aim for a depth of 5 cm. This maximises absorption and overall performance.
Step 2: Daily upkeep
a) Remove solids: Scoop out your cat's droppings every day.
b) Stir the litter: Give it a mix each day to prevent localised saturation, especially if your cat tends to favour the same spot.
Please note: Pacha is a non-clumping litter. There is no need to remove urine from the tray — it is absorbed directly by the litter granules, leaving no odour behind.
Step 3: Monthly replacement
a) Dispose: After one month, the litter will generally be saturated. Transfer the contents into a bin bag.
b) Clean the tray: Before adding a new bag of Pacha, give the litter tray a thorough clean.
How long does a bag of Pacha litter last?
Each bag of Pacha litter is designed to meet one cat's needs for a full month. For a standard-sized litter tray — roughly 30 cm x 40 cm — one bag will be perfectly sufficient.
To help you fill the tray to the optimal depth of 5 cm, each bag comes with a ruler card. Use this handy tool to measure the right amount accurately.
Should you run into any issues — whether with spreading the litter evenly or anything else — we're here to help. You can adjust your subscription plan at any time to better suit your needs.
What is the weight and volume of a bag of Pacha litter?
A bag of Pacha litter weighs 2.7 kg and has a volume of 7 litres. That may seem modest compared to some traditional litters, but this format is perfectly suited to one cat's needs for an entire month.
Pacha is made from silica crystal — a material that is both lightweight and highly efficient. Unlike bentonite, silica crystal offers the same coverage in the tray whilst weighing considerably less. The crystals act like tiny solid sponges, absorbing urine and neutralising odours over time.
Pacha is also a non-clumping litter, which means there are no urine clumps to scoop out — only solid waste needs to be removed daily. Thanks to this technology, you don't need a large volume of litter to keep the tray clean and effective for a full month.
To ensure optimal absorption and prevent the silica crystal from saturating too quickly, we recommend stirring the litter daily with a scoop. This simple step redistributes the moisture, extends the life of the crystals, and keeps things fresh for your cat. Odours are neutralised even while the urine remains in the tray.
Does Pacha litter stick to my cat's paws?
No and here's why:
We know how frustrating it is to find litter scattered all over the house, stuck to your cat's paws. That's why Pacha litter is made with specially oval-shaped granules.
This clever design minimises the risk of litter clinging to your pet's paws, meaning less mess around the house and a cleaner, healthier environment for you and your cat.
Will my cat have trouble adjusting to Pacha litter?
Most cats take to Pacha quickly, though some may need a little encouragement, particularly because of the different texture, colour, or lack of scent compared to what they're used to.
Not to worry, here are a couple of tried-and-tested methods to ease the transition:
- The familiar scent method: Place a small amount of your cat's old litter, a dropping and some urine-soaked granules, into the tray alongside the Pacha. This helps your cat recognise the smell it associates with its toilet. Many of our customers swear by this approach.
- The gradual blend method: If your cat refuses the new litter entirely, fill the tray with the old litter and add a thin layer of Pacha on top, then move a few droppings from the old litter onto the new to create a familiar environment. Leave it until your cat uses the tray for the first time. When it's time for the next change, switch to 100% Pacha.
Remember, every cat is different and may need time to adjust. Be patient, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you need further advice.
Will one bag fill my litter tray for a whole month, even if it's a large tray?
At Pacha, every bag is designed to fill your tray completely, even the larger ones (unlike supermarket bags, which often require several bags to do the same job).
One bag of Pacha gives you a full month of peace of mind, with enough litter for optimal hygiene. We've intentionally added a bit of extra product in each bag, because your satisfaction is our priority.
How long does it take to maintain the litter tray?
Pacha litter transforms your daily routine, maintenance is ten times faster than with traditional litters. Here's how we make all the difference:
Delivered to your door: No more lugging heavy bags home! Every month, we deliver exactly the right amount of Pacha litter for your cat. No unnecessary trips, no running out.
Effortless tray changes: Lightweight is the name of the game. Changing the litter is so simple you could do it with one hand, yes, really.
Minimal upkeep: Forget deep cleans. With Pacha, daily maintenance means removing solids and giving the litter a stir. Urine is absorbed directly by the granules, and odours stay locked inside — no need to remove it, just mix it once a day.
Time savings: Daily maintenance with Pacha takes just 45 seconds — ten times faster than traditional clumping litters.
Differences & Performance
How is Pacha litter different from other cat litters?
We know how important it is to create a healthy, happy environment for our four-legged companions. That's why we developed Pacha litter, an innovative product that stands apart from traditional litters. Here's why it's the best choice for you and your cat:
- Superior absorption: Thanks to silica crystal technology and micro-pores, Pacha offers unrivalled absorption. It's highly effective at neutralising unpleasant odours whilst reducing the amount of litter you use, better for your pocket and the environment.
- Virtually dust-free: We know dust can be a real issue with some litters. Pacha has been formulated to minimise dust, ensuring a cleaner, healthier home for everyone.
- Cat health monitoring: One of Pacha's most revolutionary features is its ability to act as a health indicator. The litter changes colour in response to your cat's urine, allowing you to spot potential health issues quickly.
- Practicality and longevity: Pacha is non-clumping, meaning it doesn't form large, hard clumps that are difficult to manage. It simply captures and neutralises urine and odours, making solid waste easier to remove. This saves you money and means less frequent cleaning.
Is Pacha litter clumping?
Clumping ability is something many cat owners seek out, though it's worth clarifying why that's not necessarily the best approach.
Pacha does not clump in the way you might be used to. However, it has a uniquely effective absorption capacity thanks to its silica crystals. Think of them as tiny, solid, crystal-shaped sponges that activate at the slightest hint of moisture, absorbing and trapping urine and its associated odours. When the water evaporates, everything unpleasant remains locked inside the crystals.
One of the biggest advantages of this approach is how simple it makes maintenance. Your daily routine becomes a doddle: just remove the solid waste and dispose of it. As for the litter itself, a quick daily stir and a monthly replacement is all it takes to keep things clean and odour-free for your cat.
Is Pacha litter dust-free?
Yes! It's nearly dust-free. Here's how:
- Special treatment: Pacha litter undergoes a specific treatment process to minimise dust as much as possible.
- Production filters: Whilst a little dust is almost unavoidable when filling the tray, our specially filtered production process ensures dust levels remain extremely low.
- Oval-shaped granules: Our granules are specially designed to be oval, which prevents them from sticking to your cat's paws. This means less litter ends up outside the tray, keeping your home cleaner.
Can Pacha litter be used in a multi-cat household?
Yes, our litter is perfectly suited to households with multiple feline friends! 😺
One helpful note, though: if you notice unusual colours in the litter, it could mean that one of your cats has something unusual going on with their urine. In that case, it's a good idea to separate your cats for 24 hours and provide two individual Pacha litter trays. This will help you identify which of your companions might need a closer look.
We're always here to help and answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any concerns.
Is Pacha litter compatible with automatic self-cleaning litter boxes?
Yes, Pacha works beautifully with automatic self-cleaning litter boxes, thanks to its small crystal-like texture. If your self-cleaning box works well with standard litters, it'll be fully compatible with Pacha.
Feel free to contact us if you have questions about compatibility with your specific model.
How effectively does Pacha litter control odours?
Pacha's secret lies in its super-absorbent silica crystal.
Rather than simply forming clumps around urine as some litters do, the crystal traps urine inside itself, meaning you never need to scoop out liquid from the tray.
And here's where it gets really impressive: Pacha dries out your cat's droppings remarkably quickly.
Imagine this, Pacha neutralises odours before you've even had a chance to notice it needs cleaning!
Safety & Cat Health
Is Pacha litter safe for my cat?
Pacha wasn't developed by just anyone: a dedicated team of vets and scientists worked hand in hand to create a litter specifically designed for cats.
You may well have come across silica crystal in other everyday products, like those small sachets found in packets of dried snacks. The principle is exactly the same for your cat's litter.
You might be wondering why those sachets say "Do Not Eat", that warning is primarily about the choking hazard posed by the sachet itself, not its contents.
All of this is to say: whilst we'd never recommend eating litter (or any litter, for that matter!), the crystals in Pacha are completely safe for your home and, most importantly, for your cat.
What is silica crystal, and why does Pacha use it?
Pacha is primarily made from silica crystal, an extremely absorbent mineral crystal.
A single grain of silica crystal can absorb up to 50% of its own weight in liquid. It acts like a tiny solid sponge, completely soaking up urine and trapping its odour. The litter also contains special elements that monitor whether your cat's urine is within normal parameters.
If something unusual is detected, such as blood or abnormally high acidity, you'll know straight away.
- Safety and origin: Silica crystal, also known as Synthetic Amorphous Silica (SAS), has long been used in medicine, food, and cosmetics. It is safe and well-proven.
- Quality manufacturing: Pacha is produced in one of the world's leading cat litter factories, using high-quality silica microgels and rigorous quality standards. By choosing Pacha, you're choosing a product that takes your cat's health seriously.
How does Pacha litter monitor my cat's health?
Our pets' health is everything. Pacha litter's innovative technology gives you a proactive window into your cat's wellbeing.
Beyond its powerful absorption, Pacha acts as a valuable health indicator. Thanks to advanced detection technology, it changes colour based on the composition of your cat's urine, giving you an early warning system.
Colour guide:
- Dark green or blue: Indicates high alkalinity in the urine, which may be associated with urinary tract infections or struvite stone formation.
- Light red or dark orange: Suggests increased acidity in the urine. This may point to urinary tract infections, kidney disease, or calcium oxalate crystal formation.
- Bright red: Indicates the presence of blood — a potential sign of bladder inflammation, bladder stones, urinary tract infections, or more serious illness.
- Yellow, light orange, orange, light green, or transparent: These colours indicate normal health and are no cause for concern.
Please note: Whilst Pacha litter is an excellent indicator, it is not a substitute for veterinary advice. If you have any concerns about your cat's health, we strongly recommend consulting a professional.
Pacha litter gives you peace of mind by helping you keep a close eye on your cat's health, day in, day out.
Does Pacha litter have an expiry date?
Pacha litter is designed to last and won't deteriorate as long as it's stored properly.
The key to keeping it in top condition is to store it somewhere dry and away from any sources of moisture. An unopened bag can be kept for a considerable time without any concerns. To maintain optimum freshness, we'd suggest storing it somewhere cool and dry.
It's always best to avoid rooms like bathrooms or utility rooms, where humidity levels tend to be higher.
