A month without changing the litter: isn't that unhygienic?
No, the crystals soak up the urine, so it doesn't sit in the tray. Bacteria find it far harder to grow on dry crystals, and each day you scoop out the poo and give the litter a stir.

Yes, for one cat: a single bag replaces up to 4 bags of standard clumping litter. The crystals are about five times lighter than ordinary litter.

Cheaper per cat: with two or more cats, each bag drops from £21 to £19. Allow one bag per cat per month, even if they share a tray.

What if my cat won't use it?
Mix Pacha with the old litter for 3 to 5 days: most cats take to it quickly. If yours really won't have it, you're covered for 30 days: your first bag is free, and there's nothing to send back.
Litter tracked all over the house?
The crystals are fine and rounded, so they barely stick to paws. And for the few that escape the tray, there's a very effective litter mat, available only to our subscribers in their account.
Can I buy it in the shops?
No, and that's on purpose: with no supermarket in the middle, nobody else takes a cut. Pacha is sold at a fair price and comes straight through your letterbox within 48 hours, on the schedule you choose.
Is silica dangerous?
No. Despite the similar name, refined silica crystals have nothing to do with the crystalline silica found in quarries. They're two different materials, classified differently.

The real issue is dust, mainly from clay litters. Cornell University lists dusty litter, along with cigarette smoke, among the suspected allergens for asthmatic cats.
And our crystals aren't the supermarket kind: they're heated to a high temperature, and the silica is refined, sieved and put through a patented filtration process, so it's virtually dust-free.

Does the colour change replace a vet visit?
No, it's a cue, not a diagnosis: if the colour changes, speak to your vet. The litter may change colour depending on certain properties of the urine, such as its pH.
