FAQ

What is the Extra Odour Control offer?

The Extra Odour Control offer is best suited to older or larger cats who urinate more than the average. If you select this offer, you will receive a bag of classic Pacha litter, but with an accelerated delivery every three weeks instead of four, with the aim of preventing the litter from becoming full and ineffective too quickly. For a cat of standard size and age, our normal offer is more suitable.

Why is Pacha lighter than most other cat litters?

Pacha is a clump-free litter made from super-absorbent, lightweight silica crystal. Silica crystals are extremely absorbent, more so than other litter substrates, so you need less to do the same job.

Traditional clumping litter transforms urine into large (heavy) clumps of clay that have to be scooped up, often creating a lot of dust. This clumping litter, scooped up and thrown away, needs to be replaced throughout the month to keep the cat box clean. This means more litter, heavier litter bags and more trips to the shop to buy litter products. Pacha is a non-clumping formula, so all you have to do is stir the clay litter and dispose of the cat's faeces.

A single bag of cat litter can last a whole month! There's no need to replenish it throughout the month.

What do the colours mean?

Pacha reacts to the pH of your cat's urine. When the urine comes into contact with the litter, it may turn orange, green, blue or, if there is blood in the urine, red on the white litter.

When the litter is olive green to yellow, your cat's urine is within the normal range. Want to test this colour? Tap water has a similar pH and ranges in colour from green to yellow.

Litter becomes blue when urine is more alkaline than normal, which can be a sign of a urinary infection, for example. Want to test your litter? Ammonia has a similar pH and appears blue.

Litter turns orange when urine is more acidic than normal. This can indicate the presence of crystals or stones in the bladder. Want to test this colour? Vinegar has a similar pH and turns orange.

As our litter is white, blood in the urine appears red and is easy to spot. We do not recommend mixing Pacha with any other litter as this can affect the visibility of the colour change and its performance.

Is Pacha safe for my cat?

Pacha was developed by a team of vets and scientists specifically for cats.

The litter is made from silica crystal, which you may be familiar with from other packaged products. Just as it can be placed in a bag of your favourite jerky, it can be safely placed in your cat's litter box.

Are you wondering about the "Do not eat" statement on packets of silica crystals? Eating them is not recommended as the sachets present a choking hazard. Although we never suggest ingesting the litter, the crystals are safe for the home.

Is one litter bag enough for 2 cats or more?

One bag of litter is usually not enough for two or more cats. If you have several cats, we can help you choose the right number of litter bags for you.

Many cats produce more urine and waste, so we recommend one bag per cat to keep clean and avoid litter odours. Factors such as cat size and cat food consumption can also influence the use of more cat litter.

With Pacha, you can get four or more bags of litter delivered straight to your door. Buy multiple bags of cat litter now and save on repeat deliveries.

How long does a litter box last for 2 or more cats?

The size of the litter tray and the frequency with which it is cleaned will influence the number of litter bags required.

If you have several cats, we recommend one medium-sized bag per cat and separate litter trays to avoid odours and the build-up of unhealthy bacteria.

With Pacha, a full litter tray should last a whole month for each cat.

What should I do if I notice an abnormal colour when I have several cats?

If you notice abnormal colours in one of your litter trays, it could mean that one of your cats has a health problem.

In such a situation, it might be wise to separate your cats for 24 hours and provide them with separate litter trays.

Alternatively, keep an eye on them as they go about their business, so you can identify as quickly as possible which one might have a problem that needs attention.

  • Just pick up the droppings!

  • Ultra-Light

  • Fill up once a month

The litter will smell good for 30 days, so there's no need to add more!
